Ibis Calais Car Ferry, Calais

The hotel's location is a real selling point for cross-Channel travel, especially for ferry journeys, with a restaurant that's a great convenience for tired travelers. However, the room had a strong unpleasant odor that made sleeping impossible, and the dining experience needed improvement with delays and lack of preparation apparent.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean and fairly comfortable, but my room was situated right in front of the main door to the corridor, making it very noisy at times. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for my late ferry arrival, although the area of Calais seemed a bit run down. The dining options were adequate but not exceptional, and the pricing was reasonable overall.
